Privacy

Your account has an email address, a username, and whatever you add to your profile: display name, bio, avatar, banner and date of birth. Your date of birth is only used to decide whether to show adult content, and no one else can see it.

Using Entiverse adds:

• What you track, its status, and how far through it you are.
• Ratings, reviews, comments, posts, likes, tier lists and quotes you submit.
• Who you follow, who your friends are, and who you've muted or blocked.
• Direct messages, which only the people in the conversation can read.
• Party rooms you join, and your answers and votes in them.
• Points, streaks, game scores and referral codes.
• Your Steam ID, if you link it. We only read public Steam data, and only to show your library back to you.

If you use Entiverse without signing in, nothing is stored on our servers. Anything you track as a guest stays in your browser and is lost if you clear it.

Just two, and neither is for ads or for following you around other sites:

• A session cookie that keeps you signed in.
• A time zone cookie, so the release calendar shows episodes on the day they air where you live.

Entiverse runs on a few services that handle some of your data to do their job. None of them is sold your data.

• Supabase: the database, sign-in and uploaded images.
• Vercel: hosts the website and handles the requests your browser makes.
• OpenAI: checks the text and images you post against its moderation service before they're published.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: tells people from bots on the sign-in, sign-up and password reset forms.
• Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Google Safe Browsing: a link you post, or put on your profile, is sent to Google to be checked against its list of phishing and malware sites before anyone can follow it. Google receives the address, not who posted it.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers push notifications to the app.
• Google Cloud Translation: when you ask for a post to be translated, its text is sent to Google. Only the text, and only when you press translate.
• Giphy and Tenor: what you type into the GIF picker is sent to them to search. They see the search words, not your account.
• Resend: sends account emails, such as password resets.
• Sentry: error reports when a page breaks. These include the page address and your browser, not what you typed.
• YouTube: a video linked in a post shows YouTube's thumbnail, and only plays from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) once you press play.

Catalogue information like posters, synopses and air dates comes from TMDB, MyAnimeList, Open Library, IGDB, MusicBrainz, Podcast Index, Wikidata and Steam. Our servers fetch it, so those requests don’t carry anything that identifies you.

Reviews, posts, comments and public collections are public and show on your profile. You can make your profile private in settings, and your library has its own setting: public, friends only, or private.

Your messages, blocks, mutes and date of birth are never shown to anyone else. Photos, videos and voice messages you send in a conversation can only be opened by the people in it. The microphone is only used while you record a voice message, after you press the button.

In a conversation, others can see when you’ve read their messages (“Seen”) and when you’re typing. You can turn either off in any conversation’s details, and it applies to all of them.

Poll votes are private. Everyone sees the totals, but no one, including the person who made the poll, sees who voted for what.

You can delete your account from settings. That removes the account and everything attached to it, straight away, and it can’t be undone.

You can also delete individual reviews, comments and collections at any time without deleting your account.

We only email you about your own account: a security alert when a new device signs in, a password reset when you ask for one, and a confirmation when you add an email address. These come with the account, so there’s no unsubscribe; deleting the account stops them.

There’s no newsletter or promotional email. If that ever changes, it will be opt-in, and every message will have a one-click unsubscribe that works straight away.

Reminders about episodes, streaks, news and the people you follow are push notifications, and you can turn each kind off in notification settings.

Entiverse isn’t for children under 13. Accounts with a date of birth under 16 never see content marked adult and can’t choose to reveal it.
